1 MILLION Digital Picture Frames
I came across an old press release by PanDigital the other day, bragging about their 1 millioninth digital picture frame shipped. I congratulate PanDigital, and any company that can ship a million units of anything. However, it got me thinking about that huge number vis-a-vis PhotoVu and our digital picture frames that we manufacture right here in the good 'ole USA.
So what's the connection you ask? Well, I can tell you, with most certainty, that PhotoVu will never ship 1 million frames in its entire lifespan. That's because when you buy a PhotoVu wireless digital picture frame you are not buying some commodity mass produced product in China. Instead, you are buying a personalized and custom manufactured product that is subassembled in small quantities and final assembled one at a time, right here in the USA.
A lot of customers come to us because they are looking for a big picture frame they can hang on the wall. However, there is so much more than just being the biggest. We manufacture the best digital picture frame in the world, barr none.
So when you purchase a PhotoVu and ultimately hang it on your wall, you should have pride in knowing that you not only have a great centerpiece in your home to enjoy all of your precious photo memories for years to come, but you will also have a truly one-of-kind product that was made just for you.
Just like your photos are personal, so is your PhotoVu.

Mass market vs Specialized Quality Product
I like your comments on a more specialized product designed and produced here in the US vs the PanDigitals of the DPF market. While they're both Digital Picture Frames, they're worlds apart. I consulted for SmartParts Products for quite some time, and PanDigital was sort of the arch-rival of SmartParts.
The DPF designs from PanDigital and others are all canned designs from the DPF processor vendors, then adapted by the large volume manufacturers and finally branded by PanDigital / Kodak / SmartParts, etc. Unfortunately, almost all times, the design is a minimum cost design that doesn't depart too much from the last design - ie, the market is a cost-sensitive commodity market. It's pretty difficult to innovate and provide much added value in that sort of environment.
