Setting Up Mappings

The Advanced Settings, Mappings menu allows you to map IP addresses to friendly or alphanumeric names.  You can also think of a mapping as an alias.  This feature is useful if you plan to share directories on Mac, Linux, or Unix type systems and do not want to enter the IP address each time.

This feature does not apply to Windows-based systems.

Add a Mapping

To add a mapping, use the form below:

Type in an IP address and corresponding friendly or alphanumeric name.  Only use the characters between the brackets: [ A-Z a-z 0-9 _ . - ].  Spaces are not allowed.

Click Add Mapping to continue.  You will see the new Mapping in the list once you return to the Mappings menu.

Delete a Mapping

To delete a mapping, select the corresponding number under "Delete" and click Delete.  The "localhost" entry cannot be deleted.

Once you return to the Mappings menu, the item will no longer be in the list.
