PhotoVu
Networking Overview
The Advanced Settings, Networking menu allows you to change the network settings for the
PhotoVu. In most cases, if you are using a DHCP server, you will not need to alter any of the
network settings.
A few notes about networking on the
PhotoVu:
- The wired (Ethernet) connection will always
take precedence over the wireless (802.11) connection. This is controlled
by the Ethernet cable. When the PhotoVu detects an Ethernet cable
plugged into the network port, it will automatically use that connection as
the default and disable the wireless connection. To use the wireless connection again, just unplug the Ethernet cable,
plug in the USB 802.11 card, restart the PhotoVu, and you
will be back on wireless.
- From the active connection, you can configure
the connection that is inactive. For example, if you are using
Ethernet as the active connection, the wireless settings are available for
you to change.
- After you change the Wireless Properties, the
PhotoVu will restart in order for them to take affect. All other
network settings will activate right away.
- If you are planning to use Ad-hoc wireless
networking, you must use a static IP address on the wireless
connection.
